–Rich Nines– Salt Spring Island/Vancouver BC 9:30 pm

RICH NINES ( is an anagram of actual name ERIC SHINN, it represents all the permutations of their personality in one enigma. This schizophonic selector identity came together when they moved to Salt Spring in 2011 after 20 years DJing from Toronto and Montreal to BC – they used to change aliases as their taste in vinyl and genres evolved from big beat breaks and dnb (“Dr. Asymptote”) to jungle, house and techno (“DJ Hypercolour”) to dubstep (“Invisibling”)… now with digital DJing from laptop with controller, the endless possibilities of mixing genres and matching moods to moments are what inspire RICH NINES be it at a rave, club, lounge, festival, conference, retreat, wedding, fashion show, gallery…

You can catch RICH NINES twice a month in Victoria DJing 2 residencies for the past 2 years: Cenote Lounge and VEC for Art Battle. In Vancouver you’ll find them popping up DJing underground dance music events at various venues so far including Anza, VAL, Fox Theatre, MAKE, The Rattle, The Web, The Astoria, Beaumont Studios, Red Gate (their last gig with Tank Gyal was there in 2014 at Bloodsound)… on Salt Spring they first arrived 7 years ago with Brontron invited by Bass Dojo to bring that Toronto/UK hybrid bass music flavour to the island. Here they’re best known for DJing epic late-night / early-morning sets in the cob house at Earth Candy Hallowe’en every time since 2010, and a few times a year at the usual island public halls and select private venues for special events – Last show they co-produced here was with Matsya, the legendary Silhouette event at Phoenix Farm featuring Lila Rose.

Stoked for this benefit for Stagecoach! Rich Nines loves dancing with Light Twerkerz and DJing ‘longside Lighta! Crew, so for this event expect the un/expected genre-bent never spent dubwise classic and future-fresh island/city vibes to move your feet from all directions whether wheeling up from south end north end or ferrying over from east and west, all massive roll through!”
